The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has assured the people of Okemesi-Ekiti, Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State of rapid development during his tenure.
Fayose described the town as one of his adopted towns.
The governor gave this assurance at the 2014 Okemesi Day celebration held on Saturday.
He said his primary duty as the state governor was to make life more meaningful for the people.
Fayose was represented by his Special Assistant on Information and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
He congratulated the Owa-Ooye of Okemesi-Ekiti, Oba Gbadebo Adedeji, and the entire people of the town for celebrating another day, which is the 18th Okemesi Day, in peace.
Also speaking at the event, Oba Adedeji thanked Fayose and pledged the complete support and loyalty of his people to his government.
Others who spoke at the event were the National President of the Federation of Okemesi Improvement Union, Dr. Yinka Olagunju; and the Chairman of the Okemesi Day Planning Committee, Alhaji Bayo Raheem Ajijola.
