The immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Citizenship and International Trade, Michael Chan, have been named main speakers at the 2015 Friends of Africa Conference holding in Ontario, Canada on October 3.
The focus of this year’s conference is: “The New Middle Class: Bridging Economic Disparities.”
Fayemi’s paper will focus on the developmental initiatives of Nigeria’s newly elected government and how the middle class and growing businesses can unlock new business opportunities in Nigeria and the West Africa sub-region.
According to the organisers, CASA Foundation, other speakers at the one-day economic development conference are the Director Canada Southern Africa Chamber of Business, Wayne Floreani; Board Director Ontario Economic Development Council, Brian Love; and Olutoyin Oyelade, Managing Partner Invcap Nigeria and President ASA Foundation.
Expected at the conference are top government officials, members of the diplomatic community, top businessmen and chief executives from Africa and North America as well as social entrepreneurs.
The CASA Foundation focuses on developing communities through an empowerment of its Youths and Women.
Its main objective is to spearhead social change in communities by facilitating development programs in the public and private sectors.
Through its various leadership and support programs entrepreneurs are identified and encouraged to pursue their goals and build better society.
