A Minister in former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, Princess Funke Adedoyin, has been declared winner of the Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency election held on Saturday in Kwara State.
Adedoyin was a two-time minister, heading the ministries of Youth Development and later Health (State).
She stood for the House of Representatives election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Adedoyin polled 26,758 votes to beat Peoples Democratic Party’s Richard Babatunde, who scored 23,123 votes.
Adedokyin said after she was declared victorious: “I give glory to the Almighty God for this victory and, more importantly, the support of my party and that of the people who shared in the desired change we chose to promote.”
