Argentina referee, Nestor Pitana, has been appointed to officiate Dream Team VI semifinal clash against Germany on Wednesday at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Pitana, a former actor, refereed at the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2015 Copa America.
The 41-year-old referee will be assisted by his countrymen, Maidana Herman and Belatti Juan Pabio, while Spain’s Mateu Lahoz Antonio is the fourth official.
Other officials are Cebrian Devis Pau (Reserve assistant referee), Alaricon Carlos (Referee assessor) and Nzamnita Vincent (Match commissioner).
The tie kicks off at 8pm Nigerian time.
Romanian referee Ovidiu Hategan will take charge of hosts Brazil’s semi-final against Honduras at the Maracana and he will be joined by compatriots Octavian Sovre and Sebastian Gheorghe as his assistants, with Saudi Arabian Fahad Al Mirdasi the fourth official for the hosts’ clash against Honduras in Rio de Janeiro.
