Everton are locked in a battle with Southampton over signing Nigeria and Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi.
The 21-year-old Nigerian was linked with a move to Everton in January and it seems that their interest may have been rekindled.
Reports in Italy suggest that the Premier League teams are all keeping tabs on Onazi’s situation and could make a move before the end of the current window.
Both Liverpool and Everton were linked with a move for Onazi in the lead up to the January transfer window and it seems their interest may now have been rekindled.
The player’s agent is set to fly to Italy next week and hold talks with Lazio, with a possible outcome being that the Rome side will decide to offload the player.
It is thought that Lazio would be willing to do business if they received a bid in the region of £8 million.
Whether any of them will be willing to give out that amount for Onazi remains to be seen, but it would appear the player has a preference for a move to Anfield.
Last November, Onazi said: “I would jump at the chance to play in the Premier League.”
