The Enugu State Police Command has vowed to unmask the hoodlums behind the Saturday night shooting incident at Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amarizu, disclosed this in Enugu on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
Amarizu said that the police command had commenced full scale investigations into the incident with a view to unraveling the mystery.
He said that the students shot were receiving treatment at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku Ozalla.
He said: “Investigations are in full scale to unmask those behind the incident with a view to bringing them to book.
“The three injured students are responding to treatments at the UNTH, Ituku Ozalla.”
Amaizu assured the people that the police would do everything possible to ensure the protection of lives and property in the state.
Amarizu appealed to residents of the state, including the university community, not to panic over the incident.
NAN recalls that gunmen had on Saturday night invaded Agbani campus of ESUTH and shot three students in the process.
It was learnt that the incident occurred while the students were writing their examinations.
