EPL: Black Cats survive Hammers scare

Fabio Borini struck late on as Sunderland drew 2-2 with West Ham to deny the Hammers what would have been an important win on the road to Premier League survival.
Ayew opened the scoring for the Hammers before Wahbi Khazri’s corner flew straight past Darren Randolph to break Sunderland’s recent goal drought before the break.
The Black Cats’ resistance lasted just three minutes after the interval as Collins headed in a Robert Snodgrass cross, but Borini capitalised on another Randolph mistake to equalise with three minutes left on the clock.
A worrying injury for Billy Jones led to 10 minutes of injury time being added on, and Sunderland could not find a winner despite Sam Byram being sent off in the 95th minute.
The draw ensures Slaven Bilic’s side are all but safe from the drop, but David Moyes’ Sunderland still look set for the Championship next season.
