The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday quizzed the former Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari.
The EFCC received Ngilari in its headquarters in Abuja at about 10am.
Ngilari spent about three hours with operatives of the anti-graft agencies, answering questions about the finances of his state while he was in charge with his boss, former Governor Murtala Nyako.
A highly placed source in the EFCC confirmed the development to The Eagle Online on Tuesday.
The source however said that contrary to the report quoting the EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, that Nyako had been declared wanted, no such order has been made.
The source said that the commission was only just waiting for the former governor to answer the summon of the commission.
The source said: “It is yet to get to the point of declaring anyone wanted.
“It is just routine questioning that we want to carry out and not that any criminal case has been established against the former governor.”
