The Nigeria delegation to Sunday’s senior international friendly with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa has arrived in the city of Nelspruit, after flying direct from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, venue of the Super Eagles’ clash with Uganda in another friendly on Wednesday.
Players and officials traveled aboard a CRJ 900 series aircraft belonging to Arik Air, and landed at the Nelspruit International Airport after seven-and-half hours.
The team is led by member of NFF Executive Committee and Chairman of the Technical and Development Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu, and includes the NFF Deputy General Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme.
Sunday’s match at the Mbombela Stadium, Mpumalanga, starts at 4pm South African time (3pm Nigeria time), but there is a curtain raiser between the U-17 National Team of South Africa and their Malian counterparts, from 1pm.
Both teams played the final of the 2015 African U-17 Championship in Niger Republic, with the Malians running away 2-0 winners.
The Amajimbos had beaten the Eaglets of Nigeria 1-0 in one of the semi final matches.
