Most residents of Delta State on Saturday complied with the restriction of movement order during the local government elections across the state.
This was as rain also disrupted the commencement of accreditation in some parts of the state.
Socio-economic activities were low due to restriction of movement in Warri, Udu and Burutu Local Government Areas visited as at the time of filing this report.
The traffic was light as only commercial motorcyclists were operating, conveying people from one location to another.
Security was tight, especially at check points to control movements of people.
At 8.38am, it was observed that election materials had not arrived in the office of Delta State Independence Electoral Commission in Udu Local Government Area.
Voters were seen in queue, waiting for the documents to cast votes.
In Aniocha Local Government Area, heavy rainfall and late arrival of materials left some voters dejected.
At Emado Primary School in Issele-Uku, hundreds of voters were said to be waiting dejected.
However, officials of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission were reported to have appealed to them for patience as they were doing everything possible to bring the situation under control.
