The Ekiti State Police Command on Monday paraded one Adeniyi Adedipe, aka Apase, for the alleged murder of a former state Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers, Chief Omolafe Aderiye.
The late Aderiye, a staunch member of Peoples Democratic Party, was murdered onSeptember 25 this year in front of his office at the Federal Polytechnic Road, Ado Ekiti.
Parading the suspect and five others arrested for alleged conspiracy and armed robbery, the Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, said: “Available direct and circumstantial evidence necessitated the arrest and prosecution of the murder suspect.”
Lakanu said three suspects earlier arrested in connection with the murder case had been charged to court.
Those paraded for alleged robbery and conspiracy were Chinedu Ugwu, Adekunle Osho, Eniola Sunday, Afolayan Segun, while one Igimoney Oladapo was arrested for allegedly threatening violence with firearms.
The CP said investigation into the various crimes were ongoing, adding that they would be charged to court when investigations are concluded.
