High Court 2 in Warri, Delta State, presided over by Justice F.O. Ohwo, has jailed Oghor Osie, Great Obawakpor and Tejiri Akpofure 21 years for raping a teenage girl.
The accused persons were sentenced after they were found guilty of randomly raping the girl to coma.
They imprisonment, averred Justice Ohwo, would run concurrently with hard labour.
Justice Ohwo, who dismissed the accused of conspiracy and abduction, however pinned them down with rape, punishable under section 516 and 361 of the Criminal Code.
After careful consideration of the charges, the court said the three persons truly seized the teenage girl on December 15, 2012 and took her to an apartment where they compellingly raped her.
“The girl lost consciousness after each of the young men took their turn in raping her while she pleaded with them to no avail,” the judge said.
She afterward sentenced them to 21 years imprisonment.
