On Tuesday 5th of October 2021 at about 12: 30 pm, the announcement of the removal of Ayiri Emami as Ologbotsere of Warri and received with universal elation. For the few years since the clandestine appointment of this upstart as Ologbotsere by Ogiame Ikenwoli Itsekiri lived with the embarrassment that a known carpetbagger was holding a revered title in a nation of otherwise noble persons.

Nonetheless rolling out the drums and  popping champagne in celebration of 25 years of the creation of the state by the current Executive Governor, Dr. John Olukayode Fayemi administration cannot be said to be a mere jamboree nor a misplaced priority. Ordinarily, age 25 has come to be recognised universally as a landmark epoch in the life of individuals, institutions, organisations, states or nations.

While virtually all companies repositioned their marketing strategies to accommodate the shift in focus to digital channels, they have quickly come to realise that in the digital content explosion age, users are spoilt for choice, and competition for digital advertising real estate is fierce. As someone once said: “The most scarce good today is not capital or technology, but the attention of consumers.”

For example, Leviticus Chapter nine and verse twenty-four said that, “Fire blazed forth from the LORD’S presence and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar.”  Then, book of Revelation chapter four and verse five also said that from his throne come flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And that in front of the throne are seven lamp stands with burning flames.

The poor and the middle class acquire liabilities that they think are assets. The low and middle class, because they want to appear as people that have also made it, spend money on liabilities that they think are assets. It is therefore necessary that you know the difference between an income-generation and wealth-creation assets and what liabilities are; and ensure that business funds are expended on acquiring assets. An asset brings money into the purses; while liabilities take money out of the pockets. You need to understand clearly: is what you spend money on demanding more money for it to be in good condition or it could generate money itself and leave you or your business with surplus? How you handle your personal money will influence how you will treat business fund.

As a major stakeholder in the forthcoming Triennial Delegates Conference, it is apt to state categorically that the judiciary is an ARBIRTER and the TEMPLE OF JUSTICE that is accessible and open to all litigants.

PMB, also in the same speech, buttressed the commitment of his administration to respecting the fundamental human rights of Nigerian citizens, alongside claiming that the country was winning the war on terrorism and other forces of violence. Watching the president lecture the world on the beauty of justice, equity, fair play, equality and human rights was as disgusting as it was infuriating. It was to say the least comical and absurd, as it was coming from a maximum ruler who regularly contradicts the ethos of the principles he espoused on the floor of the UN in his daily conduct as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Though I greatly appreciate the concerns of self determination advocates and believe that only policies genuinely ensconced in justice, equity and fairness rather than some empty rhetorics on unity can take the wind beneath their sail, unwittingly, I may be a victim if Nigeria crumbles as a country.

There’s a big deal about every landmark or milestone we reach in life, because we may as well not have made it to that point. We could have fallen by the wayside, or vanished like smoke. The world owes nobody a living. Not individuals, not countries. That is why the Good Book enjoins us to number our days, “that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12).

Growing up as a parish boy in our then small Catholic Church in Ijan Ekiti early in the 60s and 70s, I understood early in life the import of what the Bible says in Proverb 18:22 that “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from God” because my mother demonstrated all that were expected of a good wife to our father. And as a mother, one cannot obviously wish for a better mother because she was one in a million. She didn’t only demonstrate unbridled love towards her children and relatives, she was always willing to render help and lift people around her. She was so caring that she was nicknamed ‘mother to all’ because she looked after everybody and concerned about the affairs of all.
