A pressure group operating under the aegis of Buhari Integrity Group has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to intensify efforts towards fulfilling all his campaign promises to the common man.
The Plateau State chapter Chairman of the Group, Mallam Alhassan Aliyu, said in the first one year of the administration, the “Change Government” has not done much in alleviating the suffering of a common Nigerian.
Aliyu, who disclosed this Saturday while unveiling the one-year achievement of Buhari in office, expressed concern over the untold hardship the people are facing under the government.
He said the confidence the masses have placed in the All Progressives Congress government is dying down, adding: “We will regret and will remain disloyal and lose focus in the administration if nothing is done to change the current status.”
Aliyu said the current fight against corruption and peaceful coexistence being enjoyed is a welcome development.
He equally challenged the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, to put in place legal procedures in prosecuting the immediate past governor of the state, Jonah David Jang, for allegedly looting the state treasury.
He, however, urged members of APC to support the President Buhari and Governor Lalong administrations to deliver on their campaign promises.
He said the Peoples Democratic Party has destroyed Nigeria in the last 16 years with the promotion of bad governance and high level corruption.
Aliyu applauded the President’s foreign policy of partnering to develop confidence and trust in the leadership of Nigeria.
A stalwart of the APC, Pastor Dabit Joseph David, commended the party for performing creditably well in the last one year in office.
David moved a vote of confidence on the performance of the Buhari/Lalong-led governments by soliciting the cooperation of all Nigerians to move the country forward.
He charged people to have hope in the present regime of change, which is prepared to transform and bring in qualitative leadership understanding people oriented government.
The group applauded government over the removal of fuel subside and said palliative measures be put in place to cushion the effect of the resulting hardship.
