President Muhammadu Buhari said he has received with deep sadness and regret the accidental bombing of a civilian community in Rann, Borno State by the Nigerian Air Force on Tuesday.
The fighter jet, according to available information, was on a mission to dislodge Boko Haram fighters, but missed target.
Buhari, in a statement by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, condoled with families of the dead and wished the wounded divine succour.
He equally sympathized with the Borno State Government.
The President pledged federal help for the state government in attending to “this regrettable operational mistake” and pleaded for calm, even as he prayed God to grant repose to the souls of the dead.
