Reports on Thursday had it that no fewer than 150 persons were killed by members of the dreaded sect, Boko Haram, in attacks on two mosques and villages in Borno State on Wednesday.
Out of the number, 48 were gunned down while observing their prayers in the mosques after breaking their fast, while others were killed in their homes.
One of the theatres of killing was Kukawa village.
A lawmaker in Borno State, Mohammed Tahir, said of the attack on the mosques: “The Boko Haram gunmen killed 48 men and injured 11 others in the attack.”
No fewer than 97 persons were killed when the Boko Haram members stormed Kukawa village, killing and burning houses.
