No fewer than 236 persons have been confirmed dead from the attack on the Internally Displaced Persons camp in Rann, Borno State by a jet of the Nigerian Air Force.
While 234 of them were buried in the village, two others who were taken for treatment died in the hospital.
The bombing, which was targeted at Boko Haram insurgents massing around the IDPs camp, occurred on January 17, 2017.
The Chairman of Kala-Balge Local Government Area of Borno State, Babagana Malarima, confirmed the number of casualties, Premium Times is reporting.
Malarima disclosed the figures on Friday when the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, visited Rann.
He said: “We buried 234 corpses in Rann after the bombs were dropped on the IDP camp.
“We have two others injured persons that died while in hospital in Maiduguri.”
