The Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev. Ignitius Kaigama, has proclaimed blessed sacrament area, Jenta, Jos, a pastoral area.
This was highlight of the activities of the Diocese on Sunday where Jenta Magoro in Jos North Local Government Area went agog as clergy men and worshipers thronged the area to witness the formal elevation of the church and the installation ceremony of the Chief priest of the church by Bishop Kaigama.
With the elevation of Blessed sacrament pastoral area, the Jos Arch Diocese now has six pastoral areas.
Bishop Kaigama, who was represented at the inauguration area by Vicar General Administration, Very Rev. Msgr. Cletus T. Gotan, was also accompanied by the Dean of St. Theresa’s Deanary, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Fom.
Rev. Fr. Alexander Dung was installed as the priest of the church.
In a welcome address, the Chairperson of the church council, Helen Hassan, said they are overwhelmed for the honour done to the community and promised to work hand in hand with hDung for the growth of the church.
Speaking, Gotan said Kaigama has been passionate about the elevation of the church and decided that Dung, who is familiar with the terrain, be installed to handle the activities of the church as well as teach the people their the Catholic doctrines.
He appealed to the congregation to be security conscious.
