Pius Dashe, the Chief Administration Officer, Plateau State Government House, Jos, is dead.
According to Emmanuel Nanle, the Director of Press Affairs, Dashe died on Thursday, after a brief illness.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that his death came less than one month after the demise of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Yusuf Hawaja, who died on February 19.
Hawaja’s mother, Habiba, died six days after her son.
Governor Simon Lalong, who paid a condolence visit to the deceased’s family house in Jos, described Dashe’s death as “very shocking and most unfortunate”.
Lalong, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Chief John Dafa’an, said the deceased died when his services were most needed.
Lalong said: “He was a very fine officer and will be remembered for his diligence, simplicity and courage.
“As mortals, we always love to have our loved ones around, but we can’t question God’s decision.”
Toma Dalok, Permanent Member I, Civil Service Commission, who responded on behalf of the family, thanked the governor for the show of love and solidarity.
Dalok said: “The entire staff of government house is here to commiserate with us; it shows that Dashe lived well.”
