The remains of the allegedly assassinated Etum Numana, late Gambo Makama and his wife were buried at Gwantu, Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the burial, which held on Saturday at the permanent site of the palace of the Numana Chiefdom, attracted sympathizers from all walks of life.
The royal father, his wife and three others were allegedly assassinated by gunmen on the new year eve at his village, Tsaunin Kulere.
In a sermon at the funeral, the President, Southern Kaduna Baptist Conference, Rev. Dr Appolos Handa, lamented the alarming level at which people have become heartless to the extent of hiring assassins to take lives of others.
The Cleric enjoined the community and indeed, Kaduna State, to consider the development as an act of God.
He said God had the power to avert the murder of the Chief but allowed it to happen due to reasons best known to Him and urged the people to take heart.
On behalf of other traditional rulers, the Kpop Gwong, retired Col. Paul Wyom, said the virtues the late Etum Numana were known, including frankness, hardworking and dedication to duty.
While appealing for calm, the Kpop Gwong prayed God to grant the immediate family, Sanga Local Government and Kaduna State Government the fortitude to bear the loss.
