Lanky striker, Shola Ameobi, has claimed that the Newcastle performance against Swansea on Saturday showed that the team had ‘character’.
Ameobi stated: “It has obviously been tough for us but one thing that’s remained, is the spirit to want to work hard for each other, to fight, to keep on fighting despite the adversity which we have faced in the last few matches.
“I thought we showed character. It was always going to be a tough match and the fans were obviously expecting better from us, for the large part I thought we did that.”
The Nigerian striker scored Newcastle’s goal in their 2-1 lost to Swansea at the Sports Direct Arena at the weekend.
