The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Thursday appealed to residents to consider their future and vote wisely in the upcoming elections.
Ambode spoke while addressing party faithful at the APC campaign rally held at Igando Oloja in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State.
He said the general elections were very important to the future of Nigeria and its citizens and urged the electorate to vote wisely for the right political party.
He said: “I enjoin you to vote wisely and for the right party.
“Vote for us to secure your future.
“APC is the only party that can guarantee that.”
The candidate promised to establish a Youth Employment Trust Fund from which each of the five divisions in the state would be given N1 billion each year, if elected.
He said the fund would help the youths to access funds to start their own businesses, thereby becoming employers of labour.
The candidate also promised the establishment of a Small Enterprise Guarantee Credit Scheme, from which beneficiaries would have access to between N100,000 and N5 million, with zero interest.
Ambode assured the people of Ibeju-Lekki that, if voted into office, he would complete all the major projects in the axis, including the Lekki-Epe Processing Zone and construction of the deep sea port.
According to him, this will ease the pressure of heavy duty vehicles on the roads.
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State urged the electorate to vote for Ambode, saying that he had the experience to take the state to the next level.
