The remains of the Lagos socialite and Iyalode of Gbaguraland in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Chief Adunni Bankole, has been laid to rest in Lagos.
Bankole’s remains, after a service of song on Wednesday at Anchor Event Centre on Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, were moved to Atan Private Cemetery, Yaba for interment.
Bankole’s journey home recorded massive presence of Nigerians who came to bid farewell to the step mother of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole.
There was uncontrollable weeping among his children and several fans of Iyalode as her remains were lowered into the grave.
Her politician hubby, Chief Alani Bankole, was also ground for two days in Lagos to give his late wife the final honour.
Bankole died on January 3, the day one of her daughters, Mopelola, was getting married.
She reportedly gave up ghost after being in a coma for five hours.
Bankole was said to have died after an unsuccessful battle with a heart related ailment.
