The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday vowed to defeat former Head of State and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, hands down in the 2015 general elections, having beaten him three times in past elections.
The National Secretary of the PDP, Prof. Wale Oladipo, who stated this when he played host to the chairmen of PDP foreign chapters in Abuja, said the APC was not a political party that is really ready to offer an alternative to the teeming masses of Nigerians.
Oladipo described Buhari as “semi-literate jack boot” and “a perennial candidate”.
The PDP National Secretary said: “We have beaten him (Buhari) three times and we are going to beat him once again.”
The 2015 general elections would make it the fourth time that the former Head of State will be vying for the nation’s presidency since 2003, when he contested on the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party.
Speaking about the APC, Oladipo said: “The only agenda they seem to have is to see our back.
“But I know that God loves this country so much.
“God has decided that this country will remain indivisible and has decided that this country will continue to wax stronger.
“This country will not go back to 1983 where we will start doing trade by barter with Brazil.
“God has decreed it that we continue to pilot the affairs of this country and continue to implement the transformation agenda.”
Prof Oladipo, who pointedly declared that the PDP does not belong to any religious organization or ethnic group, charged his guests to counter negative propaganda that the APC might be making against the party and Nigeria in their respective countries of resident.
Oladipo equally told them that they would be called upon to enlighten Nigerians on the programmes of the PDP wherever they reside in the world.
He said: “The next election is going to be between darkness and light.
“It is going to be between a cosmopolitan highly focused PhD holder and a semi-literate jackboot.
“Nigeria cannot afford to go back.
“We will continue to move forward.
“You have a role to play in reaching the world today.
“It is no longer paper posters alone.
“We need visual posters to reach people.
“Of course, APC is there propagating negative about our country, ignoring all the positive aspects of our nation.
“We are going to call on you to counter this.”
