Crisis is already brewing in Plateau State among the political class over who succeeds Governor Jonah Jang in 2015.
The latest of the crisis, The Eagle Online learnt, is between Jang and the Chairman of Shendam Local Government Area, Kemi Nshe.
The relationship between Jang and Nshe, it was gathered, is no longer rosy over who should be the candidate of their party, the Peoples Democratic Party, for the 2015 governorship election.
Following the development, it was gathered that the camp of the governor has threatened to unleash financial watchdogs such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission against Nshe.
A source in the Government House told our correspondent that Governor Jang accused Nshe of disloyalty.
It is expected that the financial watchdogs will storm the headquarters of Shendam Local Government Area this week.
A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that Nshe, a PDP candidate in the 2015 governorship race, allegedly sponsored by the governor to weaken the strength of the Southern Senatorial District aspirants in order to give his political godson, Gyang Pwajok, an edge, has equally threatened to expose the governor’s ills if Jang insists on orchestrating a probe panel to audit the accounts of the Shendam Local Government Area.
Nshe is also said to have taken certain steps to mobilise southern votes for a candidate in a different political party due to the do-or-die efforts being demonstrated by Governor Jang to install his cousin as his successor.
He is also said to be in possession of documents that can nail the governor for financial malpractices.
As at the time of filling this report, effort to get either of the two parties or their spokespersons for comments failed.
