Uncertainty has beclouded the future of Nigeria’s World Cup star, Ogenyi Onazi, at his Italian Serie A side, SC Lazio, as the player’s contractual renewal with the Biancoceleste club lingers.
The player with 200,000 Euros per annum, which is the lowest salary, could be tempted to look elsewhere should Lazio fail in offering him an improved deal.
Despite several offers at his table, the player however has indicated his readiness to discuss his contract situation with the Biancoceleste.
Onazi’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, is expected to open discussions and agree new terms with Lazio president, Claudio Lotito, in Italy.
While the player demands for 1 million euro per season, Lazio is not prepared to go beyond 700,000 euros.
Onazi is of interest to Sunderland, Southampton and Everton.
Onazi, who has worn 21 caps for Nigeria, made his Serie A debut in 2012 as a 90th minute substitute.
Th midfielder, who won the Coppa Italia with Lazio in 2013, made 29 appearances in Serie A for the capital club last term.
